两名纽约客在苏格兰高地旅游时因浓雾而迷了路， 结果发现了世外桃源般的古朴乡村。两人加入了乡民的舞蹈节庆，得到友善的接待。吉恩·凯利更爱上了一名美丽的村姑。欢乐过后，两人还是不得不回到纽约去，但吉恩·凯利对于那段梦幻般的爱情难以忘怀，于是重回苏格兰……
